Sending flowers to a ship - Port of Miami

I have friends on a celebratory cruise out of Miami and I would love to send them flowers. I tried contacting the cruise line (who said to ask the agent) so then I asked their travel agent and they said the cruise line doesn't offer flowers. So I decided to send them directly from a florist, however two different florists both rejected my order saying they do not deliver to the post code.


Maybe I am naive but is it simply not possible to send flowers to the Miami port? I got the idea from my first cruise out of Fort Lauderdale recently and these same friends had sent me flowers (we share the same TA and its the same cruise line so they must have sent them from a florist?). I can't think why one port can have flowers and another cannot. Is it just these particular florists or is it something about Miami? I found another online florist that seems like it will accept the order but I am worried that I will get charged and they won't actually be able to deliver.

I have tried googling it but no information is forthcoming so if anyone has any insights.

I am very surprised the cruise line involved wouldn't allow you to buy a special something directly from the cruise line...lost revenue chance

I tried doing something similar for friends sailing from Miami once, and yeah, most local florists wouldn’t deliver directly to the port either. It’s usually because of port security and timing issues with cruise departures. I ended up using Send Flowers to Thailand before for an overseas gift, and it made me wish there was something that reliable for ports too.
